Why is there a 10 day expiration window on the Nimble capsules?Updated a year ago
Currently, our capsule sets are guaranteed to paint 20 fingers within 10 days of first paint for a good quality manicure. That’s because the Nimble device knows the capsules are freshly sealed off the production line, and that means the capsules are all consistent and predictable - and that means we know a Nimble manicure will turn out well.
The Nimble R&D team has tested all of our colors extensively to expand the expiration window from 6 hours to 10 days. Manicure results on the 2nd paint will depend on whether the capsules have been stored properly. Here’s how to store them properly:
- Once you’re done with your first manicure, put the capsules back into the cardboard insert. This is specially designed to seal the brush in the bottle - and keep it there!
- When you’re preparing for your 2nd manicure with the same set in the next 10 days, make sure you shake the color capsule vigorously so that the polish is even within the bottle.
If capsules are not sealed and stored properly, and the polish formulation begins to dry out, Nimble’s AI and robotics may not be able to deliver an equally great manicure between first use and second use.
Important distinction: even though the Nimble device will say that your capsules have expired after 10 days, the polish inside is good for 2 years - same as standard OPI, Essie nail polishes. This means you can continue to use them to touch up your fingers or paint your toes for 24 months!
